چکیده

Immature inflorescence with outer spathe length of 5.5 cm size collected from West Coast Tall cultivar coconut was used as the explant and rachillae bits were inoculated in Y3 media supplemented 2, 4-D (1 mg L-1). The cultures incubated dark for eight months sub-cultured into same at monthly interval. white shoot like outgrowths formed sub cultured to ½ MS fortified 1 L-1 each NAA BAP subsequently transferred light condition. After three months, emerging likestructure BAP. Upon developing 3 - 4 leaves, rooting root initiation observed after two months. transition vegetative reproductive state accompanied by some morphological changes including rapid emergence long thin leaves followed pearly inflorescence. Unlike normal inflorescence, emerged terminal devoid spathe. Prolonged subculture might have resulted pH variation subsequent reduction organic inorganicconstituents media. chemical stress experienced plantlet induced vitro flowering.

Antioxidant Activity of Coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) Protein Fractions.

Coconut cake is an abundant and good potential edible protein source. However, until now it has not been extensively used in the food industry. To promote its usage, the characterization, nutrition value and antioxidant activity of coconut cake protein fractions (albumin, globulin, prolamine, glutelin-1 and glutelin-2) were studied. Results revealed that all the albumin, globulin, glutelin-1 an...
